Students in Mrs. Castro's Class explored the concepts of weathering, erosion, and deposition through reading materials, video resources, and by completing a hands-on activity. They used a chocolate chip cookie to simulate a landform. Water, acting as an erosion agent, caused the cookie to fracture (weathering) , with fragments being moved (erosion) and then settled in a new spot (deposition).

All year long, our students have been working hard—expressing their creativity, exploring new techniques, and bringing their ideas to life through art. We are so proud of the imagination, effort, and dedication they put into every single project.

Today we honor Mr. Gall, who has been serving Bremen since 2000 and made a lasting impact on students, families, and colleagues! He has announced his retirement for the end of this school year. As we celebrate his contributions, we also share that his position is now posted on our website. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Bremen team and continuing the foundation Mr. Gall has helped build, we encourage you to apply.

For over 20 years, Mr. Kucela has been teaching the 'Quadratic Formula' in his own unique way.
He says, "I started out just trying to come up with a fun way to learn the Quadratic Formula. Broken into parts, it sounds like this:

negative b

plus or minus

square root of

b squared minus

4ac

all over

2 times a

Once I had a smooth rhythm developed, I thought I would say it with attitude, like a rapper.
At an NCTM conference I learned how to sing it to the Notre Dame Victory March.
A few years later, a German foreign exchange student taught me how to say it in German.
Through trial and error, I found a way to sing the Quadratic Formula to the Battle Hymn of the Republic tune and also to Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.
Then a few years ago, an Italian foreign exchange student taught me how to say it in Italian.
After that, I came up with a way to sing it in Italian."

This is proof that math is a universal language (especially when there’s a good beat involved). 📐✨
