Happy Thursday!

🌎🚨 WORLD CHAMPION ALERT! 🚨🌎
Let's give a HUGE shoutout to Bremen High School's own Payton Ballinger, who just absolutely dominated at the World Armwrestling Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan!
Payton competed in the Teens 78kg class and walked away as the Undefeated Right Hand World Armwrestling Champion! Talk about strength and dedication! 💪🏆
Here's what Payton had to say about the experience:
"This was an amazing tournament, and I’m so glad I got to represent Bremen and that American Flag. It was a hard competition, but all the training I put in really paid off and made it to where I could bring home that World Champion Title. Standing on the podium with the American flag was an unbelievable feeling."

Students in Mrs. Reed’s marketing class participated in the Marshmallow Challenge today! Their job was to build the largest free-standing tower with limited supplies.
This activity encourages teamwork and communication while highlighting the value of prototyping and experimentation. It also illustrates different approaches to problem-solving while teaching the importance of constraints. Teams learn to pivot, rethink, and try again.

Shout-out to our Transportation Director, Todd Huffman! Our school vehicles traveled around 1,800 miles last weekend between various events. We appreciate him and his team for ensuring students arrive safely.

Thank you to Brian DeJaegher of Dad’s Sawmill and Woodshop for donating wood to CJ Thornton's class!

Community Hospital of Bremen is committed to the community's well-being. Recognizing that the loss or diminishment of SNAP services will bring hardship to those most in need, CHB is offering the following:

* CHB Drive-Thru Store:

* The cafe will provide a freshly prepared meal for immediate consumption. They will also be given a frozen meal for later use provided by the Foundation.

Miss Shumaker's class had a blast designing and building their own catapults using popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and spoons! This hands-on activity helped us explore the 4.PS.4 state standard by investigating how energy is converted from one form to another. When students pulled back the spoon on their catapults, they stored elastic potential energy. As they released it, that stored energy transformed into kinetic energy, launching their projectiles forward! Through this fun and interactive experiment, students gained a deeper understanding of how energy can be transferred and transformed in real-world applications.

The High School Spell Bowl team placed 1st in Class 3 at the area competition Monday night.
Henry Varner received a perfect score, and Ivan Perez a near perfect score!

Alumni Achievement: Todd Huff ('99) obtained master's degrees in business administration and materials and chemical synthesis. He has been a process engineer, teacher, and professor. In 2017, Todd and his family returned to Bremen after he accepted the role of Process Engineering Manager at Southwire.
Todd shared, “I vividly remember a conversation with my high school counselor that really set a trajectory for me. Following in the footsteps of my great-grandpa and grandpa by serving as a school board member has been a chance to say ‘thank you’ for that pivotal conversation. I fervently believe we continue to offer something special here in Bremen and have seen this manifested in Henry’s experiences.”
Jenn and Henry share Todd’s passion for Bremen Public Schools. Jenn serves on the PTO's executive board. Henry has paid close attention to the various projects that have taken place at the school in recent years.

Thanks to PTO and the Bremen Partnership, we now have a book vending machine! K-5 teachers will receive tokens that they can use to reward students at their discretion.
We believe early literacy is important, and this is one way we hope to emphasize that books are cool!

Wooden Peel Give-Back Night

Congratulations to Mrs. Amber Reed for receiving an IHSAA Champion Educator Award, nominated by our girls soccer players!

Emerald Alliance just performed in Semi-State at Franklin Community High School!

Some sweet send-offs happened this evening. We're thankful for this community!

Our entire student body came together for a pep rally this afternoon! It's sure to be a fun-filled weekend. Go lions!

Ms. Holmes’s first-grade class enjoyed an afternoon walking excursion to the Bremen Post Office to celebrate the conclusion of their Wonders Writing map unit. Each student learned their home address, drafted a letter to send to a loved one, addressed their envelope, and used Google Maps to plan the route from school to the post office. During the visit, the class received a guided tour, asked questions about how letters reach their final destinations, and were officially named Junior Postmasters

Alumni Achievement: Jenna Pfeiffer ('12) has been busy traveling the world since graduation. Here's a summary in her words. "After graduating from BHS in 2012 I went on to be an All-American heptathlete at Baylor University. I graduated with my masters in accounting and now specialize in forensic accounting consulting. After college I moved out west and started pursuing climbing, backcountry snowboarding, and mountaineering! This past June, after years of preparation, I accomplished my biggest life goal to date — an unguided climb and partial snowboard descent of Denali, the tallest mountain in North America! I feel very privileged and blessed to have had the opportunity to grow up where I did. Despite all the places I’ve been in the world nothing beats good ol’ Bremen!"
