Basketball Cheer Tryout Announcement
Basketball cheerleading will look a little different this year due to COVID-19. Because of social distancing protocols, we would like varsity and JV teams to stay smaller. Depending on how many individuals tryout, there may be a chance we have two different cheerleading teams that will alternate cheering home games. Given the indoor venue for basketball games, our conference and opponents are prohibiting cheerleaders to perform at away games.
Although this season may look different than any before, we are still hoping for a fun cheerleading basketball season!
Basketball sideline cheerleading tryouts will be the following days and times:
Tuesday, October 27th: 4:30-6:30
Thursday, October 29th: 3:30-6:30
Tuesday will be a clinic day where the cheerleaders will learn a new cheer, chant, and review jumps and motions. Thursday, the cheerleaders will try out applying those skills.
Any cheerleader interested in trying out, must complete the registration at: CHEER before October 27th. We will be meeting in Gym A on both try out days.

We were informed this morning that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, this person works closely with all kindergarten students. As a result, the MCHD has asked us to have all KG students quarantine for 14 days. To clarify, the quarantine is only for your KG child. The rest of your family is not required to quarantine form the public. At this time, we are asking parents to pick up your KG child before 3:15 dismissal today.
These students will not be allowed to ride the bus home or attend Boys and Girls Club. Students may be picked up at door 9. Students may return on Tuesday, October 27th. Teachers are sending home iPads and instructional materials with the students today and will be sending an email with more information about instruction soon. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these challenging times.

Parent Teacher Conferences are beginning tonight. Depending on your wireless carrier, our school phones may not show as our school number. If you get a call close to your scheduled time, please answer the call.
Today we were notified that one of our second-grade teachers has tested positive for COVID-19. In an abundance of caution, we are recommending that all students in this classroom quarantine fourteen days. It is our hope that our masking efforts will prove successful there be no further spread of the disease. We will continue to work with MCHD and take any additional steps they recommend.

Yesterday evening we were notified that one of our primary students had tested positive for COVID-19. All close contacts have been notified of their potential exposure, the room has been sanitized, and we are continuing to work with MCHD to provide any additional information which they may require.

Tickets are SOLD OUT for tonight's Homecoming Football Game here at home against Riley. We have reached our capacity limit for the HOME SIDE. Limited seating tickets will be sold at the gate to Riley High School fans for the Visitor Side Bleachers.
Today, October 9th, is the final day for Mrs. Mallory Ulch to serve as the Administrative Assistant in the front office of Bremen High School. Mallory has been employed at BHS since January of 2017, and she said this about her departure: "Bremen is an AMAZING community and we couldn't have asked for a better community to live. My children will continue their education at Bremen, we aren't moving away, so please, keep in touch. I pray you all have a blessed rest of the school year."
Certainly, Mallory's personal/professional skills will be sorely missed by her school family. Please know that Mallory's replacement, beginning on Mon., Oct. 12th, is Karina Jimenez. Karina is a 2017 graduate of Bremen High School.

BOYS SECTIONAL SOCCER TICKETS SOLD OUT. Of the allotted 80 tickets, 72 tickets were sold to Varsity Players (3 per player), leaving only 8 remaining. Those 8 sold immediately at 12:00 noon. Apologies to all who were turned away. WE'RE ROOTING FOR YOU BOYS!
HIGH SCHOOL SWIM TEAM INFO: The first day of practice for girls is Oct 26 (Mon), and the first day of practice for boys is Nov 9 (Mon). We will have open swim on Oct 20 (Tue) and Oct 22 (Thu). Boys and girls may both attend, if they like. The boys may also attend practice when the girls officially start. STOP BY THE ATHLETIC OFFICE FOR A LETTER FROM COACH WASSEL WITH MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SEASON.

Families of each Bremen varsity soccer player will have 3 reserved tickets for purchase in the Bremen Athletic Office until FRIDAY, 12:00 p.m. (noon), October 9th. Parents unable to visit the athletic office should have their son purchase tickets for them. Tickets are $6.00 each.
After Friday, 12:00 p.m. (noon) October 9th, tickets will be offered to additional family members, students and the public. Remaining tickets will be limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis until 4:00 p.m.

Marshall County has been moved from a blue status (minimal spread) to yellow (moderate spread). While we are all tired of the situation, it is imperative that we continue taking precautions to slow the spread and not move into a situation where school and activities are not permitted.
