"My name is Susan (Shorter) LaFree and I am a 1978 graduate of Bremen High School. My husband, Bryan LaFree, is a 1977 BHS graduate.
After high school I attended IUSB. I majored in Business and Administration and Finance and minored in Economics. I worked in the accounting office at Ristance Wire in Bremen for a few years before returning to IUSB to attain my teaching license.
I later received my Masters in Education from Indiana Wesleyan. I taught Math at Lincoln Jr. High, in Plymouth, IN for 29 years before retiring in June of 2022. I have four children who all graduated from Bremen High School and will soon have grandchildren attending Bremen Elementary School. Now that I am retired, I enjoy gardening, canning and spending more time with my grandchildren.
I hope to give back to the community of Bremen through this opportunity to serve on the School Board. I want Bremen Public Schools to be one of the best schools in Indiana; one with high expectations for the students and staff, and one that celebrates successes."
