Congratulations to Abraham Hall who capped off his senior season with a perfect 50-0 record and the IHSAA Wrestling Heavyweight Championship at Indianapolis on Saturday! In addition to being declared the best in his weight class, Abraham won the prestigious IHSAA Mental Attitude award. Congratulations Abraham on a perfect ending to a fabulous wrestling career at BHS. Nolan Filchak is heading to Indianapolis on Friday to compete at the State Swimming Meet. Nolan punched his State ticket by winning the Riley Sectional in the 100 butterfly. Congratulations Nolan and good luck at State! The BHS Winter Sports Awards Program will be held on Thursday, March 8th, at 7 p.m. in the Bowen Auditorium. All athletes and cheerleaders participating in a winter sport will be recognized. Refreshments will be served. The boys basketball team will begin sectional play against Prairie Heights on Tuesday, February 28th. Tip-off will be at approximately 7:30 pm. If victorious on Tuesday, the Lions will play Fremont on Friday, March 2nd at approximately 7:30 pm. The sectional championship game will be on Saturday, March 3rd at 7:00 pm. All sectional games will be played at Westview. All session tickets are available in the athletic office for $10. Good luck gentlemen! This time ten days ago nobody knew a thing about this young man. Today, he is the talk of the national sports world. All athletes, especially those that are backups, dream of getting quality playing time with their teams. You hear it all the time, if only coach would give me a chance. Well, this story might get coaches thinking about who could be the next Jeremy Lin. You never know when your number will be called.
